Description

To build, optimise, and implement quantitative analytical methodologies and advanced mathematical models that provide actionable business insights. You’ll support business strategy through data interpretation and predictive modelling — improving decision-making, reducing risk, and driving profitability across FNB’s lending portfolios

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement analytical models, algorithms, and quantitative frameworks to solve business challenges and uncover opportunities
• Translate business requirements into actionable analytical solutions that support strategic objectives
• Source, clean, and prepare large datasets (50% of role) for modelling and analysis
• Build, test, and validate predictive and optimisation models to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance profitability
• Conduct statistical analysis and data mining to identify key trends, insights, and performance drivers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (credit, finance, product, and operations) to drive data-led decision-making
• Implement robust model documentation and governance in line with FNB and FirstRand standards
• Continuously test, monitor, and refine models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and business relevance
• Adhere to data privacy, information governance, and compliance standards at all times

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or Computer Science
